Position: Administrative Secretary

South Central Kansas Medical Center is seeking an Administrative Office Assistant to work in a fast paced and friendly environment.  Applicant must possess excellent computer skills and be organized as well as a team player. 

Description:

  • Welcomes visitors, vendors, patients, and staff.
  • Prepares confidential and sensitive documentation, determines top priority information, and maintains office procedures.
  • Maintains CEO’s appointment schedule as necessary by scheduling meetings, conferences, and/or travel. Also alerts CEO to schedule changes or new meetings.

Clinic Medical Biller/Coder Specialist

 

  • Full Time: 1st Shift

    Description:

    A coding and billing specialist helps the to manage insurance claims, invoices, and payments. The day-to-day work of a medical coding and billing specialist includes:

    • Properly coding services, procedures, diagnoses, and treatments

    • Preparing and sending invoices or claims for payment

    • Correcting rejected claims

    • Tracking payments

    • Following up with patients and insurance companies about outstanding bills

    Medical Terminology

    To code properly, a basic understanding of medical terminology is essential. This includes anatomy and physiology terms, diagnosis and procedural terminology, etc.

    Basic Math Skills

    Candidate must be able to do basic arithmetic to determine the proper billing amounts. While the billing system may automatically populate forms with the proper amounts for insurance claims based on the codes entered, you may need to calculate the remaining amounts due from patients or set up payment plans where applicable.

    Computer Skills

    The medical billing and coding process requires a working knowledge of computer systems and relevant medical software. The ability to learn new programs is also a plus.

    Communication Skills

    Part of the medical billing process may involve contacting patients for payment. The ability to communicate effectively and professionally is necessary for this aspect of the job. Some patients may be stressed, upset, or angry when faced with medical problems and a large bill, so good communication skills can help make these conversations a little easier.

    Use of Basic Office Equipment

1. Responsible for prompt, courteous reception and processing of all patients presenting themselves for treatment. Complete registration documents for ER patients. Records all patients seen on registration logs.

HIS Clerk

Description:

  • The HIS clerk is responsible for prompt and courteous responses to requests for medical information in accordance with HIPAA, state law and hospital policy.
  • Reviews the electronic document management system and records contained within for appropriate image quality and indexing. Release of information corresponding with attorney's offices, insurance companies, and Workman's Comp.
  • Process requests for medical records from the Billing Office.
  • Reviews the electronic document management system and records contained within for appropriate image quality and indexing.
  • Pulls charts as requested for nursing staff throughout the facility.
  • Prepares documents for scanning into the electronic document management system and examines pages and verifies patient identification on each page.

Position: HIS Team Leader

Description:

 

  1. Organizes, directs and coordinates functions and activities in the HIS, and Med Staff Coordination functions.
  2. Collaborates with Medical Staff and other providers to ensure optimal documentation of patient care as well as developing policies and procedures.
  3. Assigns appropriate qualified personnel to areas in which they are most proficient and performs staff evaluations.
  4. Reviews and interprets Federal guidelines for compliance and regulatory requirements.
  5. Ensures coding for inpatient, outpatient and professional services is performed accurately and in a timely manner.  This includes supervising the physician query process by reviewing appropriate reports.
  6. Coordinates with Quality Director on abstraction and other quality measures.
  7. Develops, implements and reports on quality improvement projects for department.
  8. Collaborates with revenue cycle team to ensure system and processes are as efficient as possible.
  9. Supervises Medical Staff credentialing.
  10. Serves as the facility Privacy Officer.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Must be certified as Registered Health Information Administrator RHIA or RHIT

Position: ICU/CCU Registered Nurse, Night Shift

Description:

  1. Maintains current knowledge of critical care.
  2. Demonstrates the ability to interview patient on arrival to ICU/CCU to establish the condition of the patient and urgency of care.
  3. Responsible for obtaining complete and accurate patient history of illness of injury and giving patient care in accordance to policies.
  4. Reviews and participates in the development of policies and procedures in ICU/CCU.
  5. Assures department is stocked by assisting with ordering supplies and pharmacy medication; assist with rotation of stock.
  6. Maintains a safe working environment for patients, family members and team members.
  7. Floats to other areas of the hospital when the unit is closed. Exercises independent judgment and initiative working in the area that has higher priority of need.
  8. Demonstrates support to other ICU/CCU team members to create a system of quality care.
  9. Attends ICU/CCU monthly meetings.
  10. Responds to emergency situations throughout the hospital as needed.

Qualifications:

Education: Maintain license by meeting Kansas Board of Nursing CEU requirements (30 CEU’s every 2 years).

License: Board certified in the state of Kansas.

Certifications: Must be ACLS

Experience: Minimum of one year of Med/Surg experience.

Other:  Must have knowledge of telemetry and emergency medications. Must have excellent interpersonal skills dealing with physicians, team members, patients and families.

MED SURG LPN, IV CERTIFIED Full Time - 3 12 hour shifts

Description: 

  • Provides direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients based on the application of scientific principles, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Delegates appropriate tasks to other members of the nursing team consistent with their abilities, certifications and licenses.
  • Documents and executes the physician’s orders as per policy/ standards of the facility. Communicates changes in the patient and physician plan of care to other nursing staff.

South Central Kansas Medical Center is seeking an Payroll Clerk to work in a fast paced and friendly environment.  Applicant must possess excellent computer skills and be organized as well as a team player. 

 

Description:

  1. Responsible for the general clerical functions of the human resource and payroll areas.
  2. Screen all HR related calls and visitors.
  3. Perform the required duties to prepare payroll data for computation and maintain associated records.
  4. Verify time records to schedules, doctor’s notes, and overtime authorizations and investigate and rectify any discrepancies.
  5. Prepare sick pay, vacation pay, holiday pay, employee rates, rate changes, and transfers to employee files.
  6. Check and reconcile any discrepancies with employees concerning their pay.
  7. Reconcile payroll as prepared and prepare for posting to general ledger.
  8. Prepare reports to government agencies, taxes, social security, etc. pertaining to payroll.

Position Type: Full Time - Days

Description:

  1. Handles and processes radiology orders utilizing the computer system in an efficient manner. Is able to manage workload demands by organizing and prioritizing. Has ability to maintain mature and professional behavior under the stress of heavy workload and acute patient care situations. Has the ability to maintain concentration with frequent interruptions.
  2. Transports patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric for imaging procedures.
  3. Correctly initiates and performs all imaging procedures required at South Central Kansas Medical Center under the supervision of the radiologist and/or ordering physician.
  4. Always utilizes safe work practices including using minimum radiation exposure while imaging patients.
  5. Is able to recognize, identify and perform procedural or technical problems in radiology areas. Knows when to contact technical service or Clinical Engineer.
  6. May act as the lead tech for an assigned area, which includes monitoring of Quality Control, equipment operation and maintenance of the individual imaging modalities. Helps in the responsibility of keeping procedure manuals up to date. Responsible for supplies and watching costs in assigned area. Is responsible for weekend operations. Assists with orientation of new employees and competency assessment of all radiology employees.

Qualifications:

Education: Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school

License: Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)

Radiology Tech - PT, PRN Available


Position: Radiology Technologist

Position Type: PT and PRN- weekends; Sat/Sun 7A-7P, and Fri/Sat 7P-7A

Description:

  1. Handles and processes radiology orders utilizing the computer system in an efficient manner. Is able to manage workload demands by organizing and prioritizing. Has ability to maintain mature and professional behavior under the stress of heavy workload and acute patient care situations. Has the ability to maintain concentration with frequent interruptions.

  2. Transports patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric for imaging procedures.

  3. Correctly initiates and performs all imaging procedures required at South Central Kansas Medical Center under the supervision of the radiologist and/or ordering physician.

  4. Always utilizes safe work practices including using minimum radiation exposure while imaging patients.

  5. Is able to recognize, identify and perform procedural or technical problems in radiology areas. Knows when to contact technical service or Clinical Engineer.

  6. May act as the lead tech for an assigned area, which includes monitoring of Quality Control, equipment operation and maintenance of the individual imaging modalities. Helps in the responsibility of keeping procedure manuals up to date. Responsible for supplies and watching costs in assigned area. Is responsible for weekend operations. Assists with orientation of new employees and competency assessment of all radiology employees.

Qualifications:
Education: Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
License: Kansas LRT
Certifications: ARRT
Experience: one-year experience preferred.

Qualifications

 

Must be a graduate of an accredited program of nursing. 

Must possess a current license as a Nurse in the State of Kansas. 

Must be certified in CPR.  

ACLS and PALS highly recommended

Position: Staff Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for a diligent staff accountant to join our accounting department. The staff accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing bank and account reconciliations, assisting with audit, budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation. You will also be assisting the CFO and Controller as needed and respond to information requests by management.

To be successful as staff accountant, you should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). An outstanding staff accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
  • Maintaining documentation and working directly with accounts payable department.
  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Assisting in other areas as needed.

Staff Accountant Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

How the bonus program works.
South Central Kansas Medical Center will pay you a "recruitment bonus" if your lead results in the permanent placement of a healthcare professional.
Bonus amount varies based upon the medical specialty being recruited:
 
$500 - Registered Nurse
$1,500 - Physical or Occupational Therapist
$2,500 - Mid-Level Practitioner (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner)
$5,000 - Physician
 
Bonus will be paid in two installments. The first half will be paid upon the recruited party successfully completes 90 days of employment through SCKMC or an affiliated clinic.
The second half will be paid after the recruited party successfully completes nine months of employment through SCKMC or an affiliated clinic.
 
Employees or affiliates of SCKMC are not eligible for bonus. Bonus will be provided only to first person to submit a candidates name.
