SCK Health and Integrity Healthcare give back to Frontline Workers

"Our Frontline Hero's should be recognized for the extreme sacrifices they make daily on our behalf. Furthermore, they should be protected as our most valuable resource." - Dr. Joseph O'Donnell

SCK Health and our partners Integrity Healthcare have come together to recognize the hard work of first responders and frontline healthcare workers throughout the duration of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

As many workers have taken on an increased health risks as a result of their work, we have focused on how we can assist those who have put their well-being on the line for our community. Therefore, we have recently sponsored and distributed reusable garment backpacks for employees in healthcare and in emergency services to the workers that have endured the most risk in the past year.

Dr. O'Donnell, Thomas Langer of City-Cowley County Health Department

Bags have been distributed to Arkansas City Police Department, Arkansas City Fire/EMS, Cowley County Sheriff’s Office, City-Cowley County Health Department, Winfield Police Department, Winfield Fire/EMS, and the employees of SCK Health at the hospital and clinic locations. This would not have been possible without the sponsorship and efforts of the Co-Founders of Integrity Health Eric Flores, PA-C and Dr. Joseph O'Donnell, whose continued commitment to Cowley County is essential to providing high-level care to our patients.

When asked to comment, Flores and O’Donnell said “We all work long shifts giving the absolute best care we can to those infected by this pandemic. Even with all the PPE we have, our uniforms become a magnet for this virus. These Frontline Hero garment backpacks were designed to add a layer of protection which will shield our loved ones as we return home to recharge. We can do our jobs best when we know we are not alone. That starts with taking care of each other and our families. Our Frontline Hero's should be recognized for the extreme sacrifices they make daily on our behalf. Furthermore, they should be protected as our most valuable resource. We are extremely honored to bring this project to reality because it truly embodies what SCKMC and Integrity strive to achieve at every step. That is doing the right thing, even during the most difficult of times, in order to bring our absolute best to the bedside. You never know when your next patient just might be your very own. Keeping this truth in mind, we carry that special grit needed to serve our community well beyond expectations through this crisis.”

Dr. O'Donnell, Jeri Smith, Les Parks of Arkansas City Fire/EMS

SCK Health would like to extend our most sincere thank you to both our partners at Integrity Healthcare, and to all the workers who have been impacted by these difficult times. We appreciate the hard work of our neighbors and friends, and we are thankful to be a part of such an amazing community.
